The BBC‘s Learning¬† Zone broadband site features a large searchable database of short audio and video clips matched to the primary curriculum. The material comes from all around the BBC (from sources such as their education programming and their news output) and each clip is accompanied by a discussion point or teaching idea.

World Cup 2010 Resources June 7, 2010

Just a quick reminder that all our World Cup 2010 related football resources (together with general football material and files from previous tournaments) are located on this page of the site. I’ve added several new files today to that page, as part of the next site update. I plan to upload new World Cup related resources¬† as and when they’re sent in so teachers can get the maximum use out of the material. If you’ve produced anything you’d like to share with other teachers then please send it in to the site.

Lightbox Education have produced this collection of resources linked to the 2010 Fifa World Cup in Textease format. There is a database (with information on the participating countries), maths & geography activities and spreadsheets for recording the results of the group stage matches.

This Australian website contains a collection of simple illustrated stories and texts designed for students with reading ages ranging from four to seven. It has been developed to improve reading fluency and confidence and, although the stories are very simple, younger students should enjoy them.
