The Birdbox Project 2006 September 7, 2007

Posted by admin in : Science , trackback

I came across this project towards the end of its run last year so I’ve been looking forward to the 2006 relaunch for a while. Organised by the South East Grid for Learning the project sees school bird nesting boxes being kitted out with video cameras and other data capturing equipment. The resulting feeds are broadcast over the Internet. Schools involved in the project have their own pages to record what’s happening with their box, there’s a forum to report anything interesting you’ve seen happening when you’ve visited the site and the SEGfL also organise Q&A sessions with bird experts. At the moment there’s not a lot of activity in the boxes themselves but hopefully that will soon change!
