The International Children’s Digital Library is a charitable organisation that is trying to build the world’s largest online multicultural repository of children’s literature. It currently offer free access to works from more than 42 countries. The foundation aims to provide students with material in their native languages and also encourage tolerance of other cultures by enabling children to read books from other countries.

There’s certainly a vast range of material to look at (both old and more recent) and several different methods to read the books online. I’ve just come across a lovely hungarian picture only version of the story of Little Red Riding Hood that’s perfect for classes studying traditional tales.
